Horseback Riding to Rio Fortuna’s Waterfall

Ride across country side and a river, then leave your horse to get down to La Fortuna Waterfall’s canyon base, where a magnificent water stream forms a nice and refreshing natural pool.

Product Description

Riding to an awesome place

This unforgettable adventure begins at a stable where you’ll be equipped and your horse will be prepared. After a few basic instructions from the guides you’ll be horseback riding through a beautiful country side, along the way you’ll find cattle farms, agriculture and a chance to see opendolas and toucans.

In the way you’ll be crossing a river and a secondary forest before reaching a country road that leads to the Waterfall’s complex. At the end of the road you’ll leave your horse in a trough and continue walking.

A few steps away from the the trough, Rio Fortuna’s Waterfall facilities offer restrooms and showers, a restaurant, souvenir shop and a modern view point for the waterfall.

When you’re ready to walk to the waterfall, the guide will lead you to a descending trail with about 600 steps of stairs as the canyon is quite steep. However a slow pace and a couple stops to catch some breath will take to the very base in nearly 20min.

There, you’ll be pleased with yourself for the effort as the view is stunning. A 229′ tall waterfall precipitates in a pool of emerald and refreshing waters. You’ll be more than welcome to take a swim here. There’s also a calm part of the river a few meters away ideal for kids.
